I stayed up late last night to make Sophia these Heart Shaped Strawberry Shortcakes. We had a rough day together yesterday..if Sophia doesn’t nap she becomes a little bear, especially by bedtime rolls around. I wanted to make these to let her know that even though we had a rough day together that I still love her no matter what.
Plus, Sophia’s favorite shape is the heart.
These Strawberry Shortcakes are the best…so good! So I am happy to share this recipe with you!
1 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup softened Butter
1/2 Cup Buttermilk
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
Cream together your Sugar and Butter, I originally used a hand held mixer, but I found it makes the Sugar and Butter lumpy. I ended up using a rubber spatula to get everything incorporated.
Add your Buttermilk and Vanilla. Using your rubber spatula mix everything together.
I used my hand held mixer this time to mix up my ingredients. Mix well.
Sift your Flour, Salt and Baking Powder into your wet ingredients. Using your Rubber Spatula mix all of your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients.
Make sure you spray your Silicon Mold with Pam spray before filling them with batter. I used at 1/4 measuring cup to full the molds..personally I like my molds to be filled to about 3/4 of the way.
They baked for about 18 minutes. You can stick a toothpick in the center of the Shortcake to see if it comes out clean OR my favorite way…touch the top Shortcake and if it springs back they are done baking.
The Pam Spray helped so much to with getting the Shortcakes out of the molds.
Cup up some strawberries!
And Devour! They were so good (stomach growled)!
These little desserts were so easy to make and turned out so well! These would be perfect to make for your kids or that someone special in your life! This recipe is definitely going in my recipe book!
