“Bomb..bomb…bomb….bomb..bomb..bomb……” the airport scene from Meet the Parents probably my favorite scene besides “I have nipples Greg can you milk me?” completely ran through my mind while making these No-Bake Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars. Wait, not the nipples quote but the “bomb..bomb..bomb…” it was that good. I believe I died and went straight to heaven making these bars. They were soo easy to make, it can turn a non-baker…cooker…non kitchen person into a tastebud goddess…or god; and make you melt a thousand times over and over again.
So I stumbled across Baking with Josh and Ange, and decided to make their No-Bake Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars. I love cooking blogs, they are probably one of my favorite things to read, but what is even more fun is that this blog is run by Angela Kinsley also known as Angela from The Office. The weird obsessed person that I am with The Office; started following every actor on the show over on Instagram, and to my surprised they are all friends.
And no Angela is not a bitch in real life…and Dwight is not really cat- killing Dwight . Even though Dwights character holds a special place in my heart…I just love him. I just love them all. Also, it turns out that Angela and Jenna (Pam) are absolute besties in real life. How fun! I have come to the conclusion I have a dire need to bake with Angela and be on the Angela and Jenna (Pam) podcast.
Have you listened to it?
Anyways before I go on and on and on…in a fantasy of baking with Angela lets jump right the recipe. You can find the recipe here.
I chose to beat the b-jesus out of my pretzels using my good old rolling pin and freezer bag, same method I use when I have to crush graham cracker for my cheesecakes.
It can also be very therapeutic btw.
Adding some Powder Sugar or 10x as they call it in the bakery. I don’t like the feeling of 10x…it kind of goes straight through me(I have really bad texture issues). But for shits and giggles…10x was added.
At this point the melted butter and warmed up Peanut Butter has been added, and everything has been mixed together.
Melt more Peanut Butter and Chocolate chips in the microwave, I love melting things in a microwave…no double boiler messes over here. No water…water and chocolate don’t mix at all. They are not friends at all; if I think about it water isn’t friends with much of anything in the kitchen…doesn’t mix well…kind of like the….(oh give me a good comparison)……it’s kind of like Squidward from Spongebob…”how come every time I am having fun…..it’s wrong.”
Everything is coming together nicely here, the pretzel combination and then the chocolate….me oh my. I was seriously in heaven; peanut butter and chocolate is my love language. Besides hard candy.
I couldn’t resist…at all. Thank God I run between 3 to 5 miles daily. Sometimes I can’t resist taste testing everything I make. It comes with the territory of being in the kitchen more than the average person should in be one and testing out new recipes.
This bad boy went straight into the fridge overnight..and then the next morning we witnessed a miracle of chocolate and peanut butter fusion. Fusion..when Whoopi Goldbergs ass was glued to chair in Sister Act….”fusion.”
Look at that! Simply irresistible….and just purely simple…what I like most about this recipe is it doesn’t have to be eaten all at once; and it can last in the freezer for 3 whole months! Let that sink in 3 whole months!
Don’t wait to make this…”bake,” your way through this quarantine.
