Sesame Chicken Noodles

“How you feeling…hot..hot..hot…”….”how you feeling…hot…hot..hot…”- sung by Merrymen that had me singing. Meeee oooooh my…THIS! This right here had my taste buds singing….Chrissy Teigen you did it to me once again, I mean your cookbook brings by cooking to a completely different of level of hot and fun. I am finding myself cooking outside of my comfort zone; using ingredients that I never take a second glance at the grocery store. For instance Tahini; I thought it was something that went into those fun beachy drinks….but I couldn’t have been anymore wrong; then I couldn’t find it at the grocery…that was fun; but I ended up buying a big bottle of Tahini…and Sriracha, because why not, anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Dandelion Wishes & Links

I read a quote this week about Dandelion flowers “some will look at these flowers as a weed; and others will look at them as wishes.” At almost 32 years old I will still blow on these flowers and make a wish; it’s just who I am. The past week has been really hard; everything hit at once..last week my one tooth decided it wanted to flair up, so I made a call to my endodontist and he immediately slapped me on antibiotics and steroids. If you’re anything like me that combination is deadly, it makes me so moody and very sensitive; I cried watching The Office. Then while on a run I twisted my ankle chasing after Whiskey, that was chasing after a rabbit at the park, because me yelling her name wasn’t good enough..so lets twist our ankle and step in someone elses dog shit. If that wasn’t enough for one day, I walked around with a hole in my pants in a very unpleasant area, then dropped my berries at the grocery store parking lot. And I’m sorry to say, none of those things was the icing on cake for last week, it just continued to snowball and get worse.

Angela’s No-Bake Peanut Butter Bars

“Bomb..bomb…bomb….bomb..bomb..bomb……” the airport scene from Meet the Parents probably my favorite scene besides “I have nipples Greg can you milk me?” completely ran through my mind while making these No-Bake Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars. Wait, not the nipples quote but the “bomb..bomb..bomb…” it was that good. I believe I died and went straight to heaven making these bars. They were soo easy to make, it can turn a non-baker…cooker…non kitchen person into a tastebud goddess…or god; and make you melt a thousand times over and over again.

Blueberry Thrill Muffins

“I found my thrill on blueberry hill….on blueberry hill when I found you….” originally sung by Fats Domino but more importantly sung by me in the kitchen anytime I bake something that contains blueberries. It brings back memories of being down in West Virginia as child at my grandparents house. I would immediately rummage through their vinyls and play a few select records every visit; Blueberry Hill was among the few selected.

Homemade Chicken Wrap

SAMSUNG CSC

Every other weekend Sophia, my mom and I go to Sam’s Club to fulfill some of our groceries in bulk, which happen to be more paper products more than anything. Nonetheless, Sophia recognizes Sam’s Club for their samples on Saturdays.

We stop at literally every sample station along the way.

So, this past Saturday, we were at Sams Club and this little old woman hands me a sample of their Chicken Wrap. My first reaction was it wasn’t poor tasting by any means it was just missing something.

…..FLAVOR!

So I created my own tonight for dinner, but you can certainly make this for lunch as well!!

Summer Salad

SAMSUNG CSC

I enjoy trying new recipes especially for summer, there seem to be more of a variety of fall and winter foods than summer foods.

By the end of May, I am so over the usual hamburger and hot dog ordeal…that even suggesting it for dinner becomes and instant no. Can anyone else relate?

Last week when I was browsing Chip and Joanna’s Magazine Magnolia I found a recipe in there that I had to try with the grilled chicken breasts we were having for dinner.

Luck must have been on my side, because the only item I did not have on had was the corn on the cob. So I ran up the street to Aldi’s and grabbed them.

Make This Recipe Tonight

I made the best Pot Roast last night for dinner, that I delayed a couple of other posts to share this recipe with you!

This is actually my 4th pot roast that I have ever made..

The degree in taste went from “ok this need more salt….ok this one needs something, but I am not sure what…ok my roasts never turn out like my moms.”

Until…I stumbled across this amazing recipe fromĀ Ree Drummond- Pioneer Woman

And boy was I happy!

Mama’s Homemade Egg Rolls

SAMSUNG CSC

My mom makes the best egg rolls known to man kind. I am really picky with egg rolls. This summer I have been having a really hard time find a Chinese restaurant where their egg rolls aren’t mushy inside. So I have been dying for my moms egg rolls they are super good and very versatile.

I am going to share with you her recipe that she made up herself. A lot of my moms recipes are to taste meaning your add as much or as little as you want of certain spices.

Mini Quiches & a Ninja

Rain. I can not express how much I feel like Pittsburgh has gotten over the last couple of days. Cold. I can not express how cold it has been in Pittsburgh recently. Have I mentioned it is supposed to be Spring. With it being cold and rainy that last couple of days having and very active toddler couped up in the house is not exactly ideal, especially since Sophia is a nature girl and we just got over winter. So, I decided to take her to a local Jump n’ Bounce, which she loves! And in the end we both end of having a blast.
