“I found my thrill on blueberry hill….on blueberry hill when I found you….” originally sung by Fats Domino but more importantly sung by me in the kitchen anytime I bake something that contains blueberries. It brings back memories of being down in West Virginia as child at my grandparents house. I would immediately rummage through their vinyls and play a few select records every visit; Blueberry Hill was among the few selected.Continue reading “Blueberry Thrill Muffins”
The other night I was craving Salmon like something fierce, ideally I would eat it constantly, but it can be quite expensive. Growing up I absolutely disliked it so much, but right after I had Sophia for as much as I disliked it, I ended up loving it.
Traditionally I grill my Salmon, but when you have to refill your propane, you make due with the kitchen stove and pray for the best.
Surprisingly enough it was just as fantastic!
Here is how I make my favorite Salmon in the world!
Every other weekend Sophia, my mom and I go to Sam’s Club to fulfill some of our groceries in bulk, which happen to be more paper products more than anything. Nonetheless, Sophia recognizes Sam’s Club for their samples on Saturdays.
We stop at literally every sample station along the way.
So, this past Saturday, we were at Sams Club and this little old woman hands me a sample of their Chicken Wrap. My first reaction was it wasn’t poor tasting by any means it was just missing something.
So I created my own tonight for dinner, but you can certainly make this for lunch as well!!
If you are anything like me, Mondays are really busy and by the time dinner rolls around I want something really quick and easy. One thing that always seems to be eaten in my house is pizza.
I love pizza, but my favorite is Margherita Pizza. There is just something about the fresh Tomato and Mozzarella…and oh my goodness fresh basil that makes me grin from ear to ear.
So, I can up with my own Margherita Pizza that is to die for. So good!
The other day I was craving homemade roast….of all things to crave…roast…really?!?! So that night I pulled the roast out of our second freezer and allowed it to thaw out overnight.
If you know anything about me, I am a huge Pioneer Woman fan! Everything that I have every made of hers, I absolutely loooooved it!
So, I had a funny feeling that we were going to enjoy her Pot Roast.
Long time..no see…huh? I have been away for quite sometime. My personal schedule has exploded with tons of events and projects. All in due time I will share, I promise!
It has been particularly chilly in Pittsburgh this month so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share this replica recipe with you that I made. But I must share its backstory with you first!
I enjoy trying new recipes especially for summer, there seem to be more of a variety of fall and winter foods than summer foods.
By the end of May, I am so over the usual hamburger and hot dog ordeal…that even suggesting it for dinner becomes and instant no. Can anyone else relate?
Last week when I was browsing Chip and Joanna’s Magazine Magnolia I found a recipe in there that I had to try with the grilled chicken breasts we were having for dinner.
Luck must have been on my side, because the only item I did not have on had was the corn on the cob. So I ran up the street to Aldi’s and grabbed them.
For about a week Pittsburgh has been more snowy and cold than it has been all winter long. Just a few weeks ago we hit 78 degrees…it was heaven, but I must admit I am really anxious for April. With the cold weather upon us still…..
I thought it would be fun to put a twist to your normal Hot Chocolate and make Unicorn Hot Chocolate. Plus, I knew that Sophia would just love it.
I stayed up late last night to make Sophia these Heart Shaped Strawberry Shortcakes. We had a rough day together yesterday..if Sophia doesn’t nap she becomes a little bear, especially by bedtime rolls around. I wanted to make these to let her know that even though we had a rough day together that I still love her no matter what.
Plus, Sophia’s favorite shape is the heart.
These Strawberry Shortcakes are the best…so good! So I am happy to share this recipe with you!
