Ugly, but Good.. No – Bake Cookies

IMG_7894.jpg

These cookies are definitely my go-to cookies to make in the summer, literally for some simple reason….I don’t need to bake them! Plus they are Peanut Butter and Chocolate…need I say more?

I have been making these cookies for Sophia and I in the summer for the last two years that keep resurfacing every year!

Look, I totally get it….. they’re aren’t pretty and probably the most ugliest cookie you’ll ever see, but they totally makeup for it in taste. I promise!

When life gives you Lemons make…Jo’s Favorite Lemon Pie! I have been going through a wicked sweet tooth recently that I just can’t get a grasp on. It doesn’t matter how many yoga classes I take or how many times I try to distract myself…nothing and I mean nothing seems to be helping. Until….I came across Jo’s Favorite Lemon Pie.

But let me back up…I have a huge confession and obsession. I am a HUGE Joanna and Chip Gaines fan from HGTV Fixer Upper! My mom and I will watch them for hours. Their style is basically my style, everything they do I love. So when I came across Jo’s Favorite Lemon Pie recipe in their magazine…my inner obsession came out…

And I had to try it!

It is probably the best pie I have ever had. Hands down. I mean it’s rich, packed with flavor and lets say not legging pants wearing friendly…but perfect for a cheat day…or week. Whatever tickles your fancy…I will do a week cheat please!

We had Soup for dinner!

SAMSUNG CSC

One of my favorite parts about fall and winter is the amount of soup I seem to consume and cook. What gets me more excited other than eating soup is when I find a good slow-cooker recipe.

Sometimes I love the idea of throwing everything into a slow-cooker and allowing it to stew for hours! Especially on those days where you have a million and one places to go.

It just makes life a little simpler!

Pumpkin Spice Doughnut Holes

SAMSUNG CSC

Are you going to a Thanksgiving brunch anytime soon? I thought this recipe would be fun to share you  especially if you have have more than one place to go on Thanksgiving Day.

This year I am only going to my moms. We typically have the same stuff every Thanksgiving, but I think this year we are going to be switching it up a bit.

As long as my mom doesn’t get rid of her Sweet Potato Casserole, then switching it up is fine with me!!

These Pumpkin Spice Doughnut Holes are really good and super easy to make! They took me about 45 minutes from finish to end! Sophia helped me roll them into balls, so some of them are “squargigles,” but it makes them more fun. Sophia loves to help! Especially in the kitchen!

Hocus Pocus Inspired S’mores Pops!

SAMSUNG CSC

It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!

“BOOOOOOOOOOOOK!” That is what was going through my mind as I was making these late last night.

If you have ever seen the movie Hocus Pocus with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy then you will certainly recognize Bette Midler’s “one-eyed spell book.”

This recipe originated from a website called Delish. Since I am a huge Hocus Pocus fan I knew I had to make them.

Our Daytona, Florida Trip

img_4749

Sophia and I recently came back from week long vacation in Daytona, Florida. This is my first time back to Florida in about ten years and Sophia’s first time. Except this isn’t her first time to the beach, we took her last year to Myrtle Beach, North Carolina about a week before she turned a year old.

Sophia fortunately traveled very well going down to Florida. She was very captivated by all the planes and the people that flooded the airports, that she was hardly bored.

I was so grateful.

How to Make Confetti Balloons!

SAMSUNG CSC

Sophia’s birthday was Confetti theme this year, so I knew that I wanted to have Confetti Balloons all over the place. To be honest I was not quite sure how to go about making them. So, after doing a good amount of research I found it was going to be easier and much more cost efficient if I did them myself, rather than ordering them. Or have someone do them for me.

For the confetti I cut up old tissue paper that I received from prior birthdays, baby showers, holidays..etc. Many party stores that I contacted that have done Confetti Balloons for customers in the past do not recommend using the glitter confetti. Due to the balloons popping once helium is injected into the balloon.
